EVENT LEAD is a part-time, on-call position focusing on the safe and efficient execution of event set-ups and strikes. The selected candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Event Crew and communicating design details as per floor plans and visual guidelines.
RATE OF PAY: $25 - $30 per hour
4-hour minimum pay guarantee per shift
Shifts will vary, including evenings and weekends
The role may lead to a permanent or further part-time position, with growth opportunities
No contractors - Event Leads are hired as hourly employees
RESPONSIBILITIES
Arrive on time, prepared to begin work
Lead set up and strike team
Oversee sign in and sign out of Event Crew each shift
Manage venue load-ins and load-outs efficiently and safely
Supervise and assist Event Crew
Make note of any missing or damaged items at the time of event strike, reporting findings to the Rental & Events Coordinator
Unload and load trucks of boxes, bins, objects, and furniture
Use moving equipment (rolling boards, pallet jacks, etc.)
Assemble pipe and drape
Set up and/or assemble other event décor and props
Carefully unpack and repack breakable decor and props
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
Lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
Travel up and down stairs unassisted, sometimes carrying objects
Push, pull, and otherwise move large, heavy items with the use of moving equipment
Be on your feet for long periods
Move-in awkward, small, or restricted spaces
Have adequate transportation to and from event sites sometimes late at night when public transportation is unavailable
ASSETS
Previous management or team lead experience
Design experience or related degree in design
Previous event and/or stage crew experience
Experience with professional draping
